Okay….everything I posted two weeks ago. Reapply that here.
I truly don’t have all that much to update on. For week 8 I was working on the same four projects I was the week before. So obviously I don’t have much to update on. I’m less frustrated this week than I was last week with balancing my life so I guess scratch that part of it out…but in general last week still applies.
I do have a couple awesome things to talk about that happened during this week.
Every week on this internship we have conference calls, every few weeks we have guest callers on them and this week was awesome! I had two mandatory conference calls on Monday and both had guest callers.
Our first call was with The Company Men and they were super cool guys, I loved hearing about how they got to where they are in their careers and why they do what they do. But perhaps the call after that was far more exciting for me.
The second call that day was with Kenny Vasoli!! Now if you don’t know Kenny by name perhaps you know his bands, The Starting Line and more recently Vacationer. This was super exciting for me as I was a big fan of The Starting Line back in Middle School, particularly when I heard the song “The Best of Me.” I still love that song actually! I was at a concert a few weeks ago and they played that song before the show and I could still sing along with every word.
I honestly think that’s it only natural I followed Kenny to his transition to Vacationer and kept up with the music he makes now. I really liked hearing him talk about how his music really was just a transition and that the music he makes in Vacationer is where his heart lies now but by no means does he discredit The Starting Line. The two bands have a very different style and in my eyes it’s a very natural progression to make and I just really loved hearing about it in Kenny’s own words!
As for internship work this week, there’s not a whole lot going on.
We got four new projects for the week and what’s crazy is that it is the second to last project cycle in this internship! I can’t believe how fast time is going! It will soon be over and soon I will be graduated and making my way in the big girl world~ I honestly just can’t believe how crazy fast time is going! So much to do in so little time but I am really enjoying every minute of it!
I got a bit of work to do on the current projects though…so off I go!
